Food & Drink at The Globe

The Globe has, rightly, a reputation for great food. We use fresh, local ingredients and our chefs prepare genuinely tasty and beautifully presented food at affordable prices. See the photos below for some of the dishes we offer.

You’re welcome to eat in our Dining Room or in either of the bars. Dogs are welcome (water and biscuits provided) in both the Lounge and Public bars.

Booking is strongly advised at busy times of the week and during the holidays.

Our menu changes regularly with the seasons. Our favourite classics are always featured, and we also offer a good choice of vegetarian dishes.

If you have special dietary requirements, please discuss them with us when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Opening Times

Our bars are open from 11am to 11pm Mon to Sat. Sundays 12 noon to 10.30pm

Food is served from 12pm to 2.30 and 6pm to 9 pm every day

Our friendly bars have cosy open fires in the cooler months. We offer a wide range of local ales and ciders alongside whiskies and other spirits. We keep a broad selection of international wines.

The Public bar is a great place to meet local farmers and other inhabitants of Chagford and the surrounding areas. In the Summer there is space to enjoy a drink in our garden or to gather on the Church Wall in front of the Globe with friends old and new as people have done for at least a century.

“(We had) fish & chips and two vegan mushroom and spinach pies, with chips, veg and a lovely sauce. Being vegan you’re limited as most places do risotto or tagliatelle. But this pie was delicious and the service was terrific. The waiters knew what they were doing, both very professional and polite.
